All of this past week has been spent on one assignment and that was making the hulk. First we had to download the illustrator file which included basic shapes like circles and rectangles that made up half of hulks body. The next thing that I did was copy all of the shapes given and then move them to the other side, then i right-clicked and then transformed and reflected. This was so both arms were mirror images of each other. After I had all of the shapes in the places I wanted I needed to make then into single shapes, this is where we used the pathfinder tool. The pathfinder tool is used to unite shapes into a single piece. After I was done uniting the arms and legs it was time to work on the pants. This was the part that took the longest because I didn't know what tool would be best to use, but I eventually used the shape builder tool to combine the legs with the pant cuffs. I then made everything green and purple by using the stroke and fill colors. I then made his face by making circles and drawing lines and also coloring those with stroke and fill. One of the final steps was to make lines to make hulks muscles defined, to do this I used the curved line tool. The final step was to create a speech bubble and inside of it write "HULK SMASH!" inside of it.

Even though this week was very short, we still got to do a little bit of actual work in Illustrator. Our assignment we started on was to make a piece of pizza, which started with using the polygon and changing it to three sides, after making it the size I wanted by scaling up I went to the swatches panel then selected the swatch library foods and then vegetables. I used one of the darker shades in the pumpkin palette for the color of the slice. Next I transformed the pizza to be facing downward by changing the angle to 180. Then I went back to the shape tool but this time I chose ellipse, holding down the shift key I created pepperoni. After making a couple duplicates I hung some over the side of the pizza, then used the shape builder tool. The shape builder tool is used when you want to combine two or more shapes to create one where there are all stuck together. I used this to make it look like there was half of a piece of pepperoni on the slice. The next step was to create olives which was done by selecting the pepperoni making a duplicate and dragging it next to the artboard then changing the color to black then making another duplicate and downscaling it. Then I placed the smaller black circle onto the other and then using the shape builder tool to take out the middle. I then placed them on the pizza using the same process as the pepperoni. This was all I got to but tomorrow I have to create the crust and the green peppers.

Over the last two days in class we have started to veer away from Photoshop and start working in Adobe Illustrator. The main difference between the two programs is that bitmap (Photoshop) is using pixels and Vector (Illustrator) is using mathematical equations. The main benefit of using Vector over bitmap is that when you zoom in on an image the vector stays at the same resolution and bitmap becomes more pix-elated. The main tools are also drastically different in the two programs, the one that I am most familiar with is the pen tool, in Illustrator the pen tool is used to create shapes by connecting points and then using the anchors to create the shape you like. In Photoshop the pen tool is also used to connect points but it can only go in straight lines depending on which version of the pen tool you select. Some of the different things that these programs are used for is Photoshop is more for art work and photo editing and Illustrator is mainly used for graphic design and advertisement. Overall the two programs are both used in unique ways and I can't wait to learn more about each of them.

helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/using/drawing-pen-curvature-or-pencil.html www.pluralsight.com/blog/creative-professional/whats-difference-photoshop-illustrator Fortnite Battle Royale is a game by the people over at Epic Games, it is a third person shooter where 100 players enter the map and as time continues a storm surrounds players forcing them into gun fights with other players. There are three modes in the game single, duo, and squad which is where you can play by yourself, with another person or three other people. There is also a player versus environment game type but that costs money and I haven't played it enough to review it. Te thing that separates Fortnite from other games in its category is it's cartoon like graphics and its availability. My favorite thing about it is when I get into a party with three of my friends and mess around un till we are some of the last people on the map then we have to actually focus and try to win the game. Another thing I mentioned was the availability of the game, because it is free to play and is on every platform unlike similar games like H1Z1 and Player Unknown's Battlegrounds. One of the biggest parts of the gameplay is the building aspects of the game, for example when you start out the game with just your pick axe you go around tearing down trees and houses searching for weapons, you acquire materials that let you build things like bridges and houses for you to use when ever you want or when you need to escape or hide from enemies. Overall I really enjoy Fortnie especially with friends and it being free that makes it just that much better.

The past week in class has been a little bit chaotic, after I had finished my Bitmap Game Art that I had been working on for the past couple of weeks Mr.B had released a new assignment where we had to watch three tutorials and create three different pieces of work. My first piece that I started working on was how to create a flame effect around text by a youtuber called Photoshop Tutorials. I unfortunately didn't finish this piece because there was no voice over to explain how to do it just text at the bottom but I did learn how to make the flame effect, by typing in a word then right clicking the text and selecting Create Work Path, then creating a new layer, then hiding the text and going to Filter, Render, and then Flame and then adjusting how thick you want the flames to be. My first piece that I finished was supposed to be an animation but I just used the same techniques to create my piece. I watched a video by Made By Mighty, and so what he did was create a black background and then add static by going to filter, then noise then adding noise and setting amount to 200 and deselecting uniform and selecting monochromatic. Then going back to filter, then blur, the motion blur and setting the angle to 0 and the distance to 20 pixels. After you set the layer palette to Hard Light and stretching the layer out by using control T. Then using the type tool I wrote out GLITCH and then made a new layer that had the word in it. Then using the marquee tool I went around selecting different parts of the word and moving the to the left or right. After doing that he showed how to create an RGB split which is where there is and outline of red, blue, and green surrounding the word. First we had to make a new layer and moving to 10 pixels to the right by holding the right arrow key and pressing space, then control right click the layer and fill and making the layer red and bringing the opacity down to 85%, then adding motion blur. After repeating the steps for blue and green Mr.B said that there would be a one hour early release and I had to stop there. We have been out of school the past few days and i haven't gotten to work on ay more of my pieces.
