Counter Strike Global Offensive, a first-person shooter made by Hidden Path Entertainment and Valve released in August 2012 is the third significant game in the Counter Strike series. It is a tactical shooter based on objective game play and the game's unique economy system. Game has multiple modes, such as casual, competitive, flying scoutsman, arms race, deathmatch etc, this gives players competitive and casual things to do. CS-GO was one of the few games that has a world-wide esports scene with an event going on all the time. For competitive game play it is 5 versus 5 with players trying to plant a bomb, if the bomb gets diffused the counter terrorists win, if the bomb goes off the terrorists win, or if one team kills all of the other team. After each round players get money based on kills, completing the round, and objectives. Then at the start of the next round players can buy armor and other weapons.

This week in class has been all about animation in 3DS Max. The first thing we did was watch a series of tutorials on animating, and teaching us about the key frames and tools in 3DS that are specifically for animating. What I got from it was that there are 100 key frames that you can use, what I learned was that whatever you do in between the key frames that you set is what changes when you play the whole thing back. We first did this with a downloaded file that Mr.B gave us of a couple cars that would go down a track. I watched the tutorial on how to change the speeds of the cars with the curve editor and that was very helpful in introducing the basics of animation. The next thing that we did was watch another tutorial on animating 5 boxes and making them rotate during the animation. This was probably the hardest part of the animation process, because I had accidentally had it on auto-key frame which was a mistake, so I had to redo it so many times. Then The last thing that we did was using our space scene that we had made in our maps activity was to make a space ship fly from Earth and off screen. I did this by setting a key frame at 1 and 100, then I placed the camera where I wanted it, and had the moon do a revolution around the earth and changed the speed to pretty high so it would rotate faster than the Earth which I also made spin. Then I started with the spaceship inside the Earth and moved it along the x-axis and pulled it out. That was pretty much all I got done this week in class and I hope to continue working with animation. Summary:

So for the assignment we had to apply the same 6 materials on every side of a cube, but I (being me) thought that we had to apply a different color to 216 polygons on the cube, which would have taken years, but luckily when Mr.B got back he changed the instructions to make it more clear. The rest of the other parts of the assignments were pretty easy, my favorite part of it was chasnging the colors and materials of the spaceship, because I made mine look really cool. The main part of this assignment was working with materials, so to apply materials you select the part, or polygon of what you want to change the color of and apply an ID to it. Then you press the M-key and apply a standard material then you select what you want from there, for example is I wanted a gradient material I would select that and apply it to the standard material's diffuse then change the colors to what you want. After you've done that you right click on the standard material and select apply material to selection, then you have to render and you will see what your object looks like.
